We're super happy to have this update out, and we hope everyone gets a kick out of it!Īs you may have seen in discord, I became the project lead on A Township Tale about eight weeks ago. HTC Vive controller hand positions are wrong when set to "steam" in the launcher. The "you got kicked" message is displayed correctly on the client. You no longer regain stamina while climbing at speed (it starts refilling after 0.3 seconds of staying still). The camera no longer has black shadowing on PC.Steam input should work correctly for index controllers (full finger control).Accessibility settings are on by default.Stamina, health, and hunger UI is cleaner.Handhover interactions should have more obvious visual feedback.Shaking your hands to regain stamina is now based on a % of max stamina per second, rather than a flat rate.Redwood Cores added to Quest (in the chests in the new climbing areas).Repair boxes and actions that require resources are easier to use.Death ferns in the Quest version of the game.A floating orb that will help players on new servers identify the most important resource boxes.Christmas festive zone with a seasonal quest where you can get a free cosmetic item.We disabled drop your gear and bag when you die on all servers today see the last blog for details on how to re-enable it.You will need to re-complete the tower in 0.1.5. A bug in 0.1.4 means that even if you completed the climbing tower, you probably don't have full stamina unlocked.Update 0.1.5 introduces a new seasonal experience, fixes quality-of-life issues and enhances the previous climbing release! I know ya'll are curious about what happened, and I will share some reflections below. PVP is disabled on new servers by default, to re-enable it visit for your patience in waiting on this update.Fixed exploit where you could teleport while using smooth locomotion on the same hand.Fixed black screen on using teleport potion from caves.Fixed items appearing to float for a period when loading the markets area.Fixed some instances of items duping on trade decks. These typically appear #server-announcements in our DISCORD server. Since the last 'official update' there are also some hotfixes that are already out that we'll summarize here for those who missed it. Fixed issue with players appearing invisible and their items would float in space.Fixed issue with dock numbers on the hoarder bag not displaying. This is to provide a more natural hand interaction since 'squeezing' is the opposite of what the character does.'Hand' touch interactions, such as lockbox, map board, and levelling shrines are now automatically interacted when placing your hand close to the symbol. This allows players who customized in the Main Menu but forgot to make a preset to still use their avatars. The character avatar in the Main Menu's customization will be displayed when entering new servers, and retain when returning to the main menu. Each hand has its own 'memory', so you won't grab an item out from your left hand the same way you docked it from your right hand.Items retrieved from docks are grabbed in the same way you placed them in.Melee Impacts committed on your client better reflect actual damage done to entities on the server.More Reliable Impact Detection (PCVR Also). Here are the notes: QUEST PATCH 0.0.1.5 & PCVR 0.0.78.0 Other changes in this update won't be on PC yet however.Īdditionally, we've also provided some quality of life changes to make life higher quality! Since this impactor change is going to make a big difference, and we've managed to isolate the changes entirely in code, we're bringing this to PCVR as well. The ownership of the attack between client and server is trickier there. Some other notable improvements include reliability when hitting moving targets, such as Spriggulls and pots.Īrchery is not yet improved by this system. You will notice this most with more intricate mechanics such as hitting nails or chiseling. We've thus migrated PvE and crafting impacts to a new system, providing a much more reliable experience. Previously, you might've seen effects play when you've hit something, but actually the server wouldn't always count it because of the desync between clients and servers. This will be making a lot of the 'hits' you see on your side properly reflect what's happening on the server. This update we focused on improving the reliability of impacts and when you hit things. Thanks everybody for your patience, and sincere apologies for the problems. This post will be amended when that is no longer the case. This means the changes listed for Quest in this post do not currently apply. We'll be doing a more thorough testing process before these changes are re-introduced again. EDIT: Quest versions have rolled back to 0.0.1.4 due to the issues everyone's been experiencing.
